About Steve Harris Construction

After serving in World War II, Marshall "Whitey" Harris homesteaded in McCammon, Idaho and created what would be known as Harris Construction. Specializing in custom homes, Whitey built hundreds of homes throughout southeastern Idaho. Building homes became his way of life, knowing that each home was handcrafted with the finest workmanship and attention to minute detail built his reputation as a master home builder. Each home was constructed as if it would be his own - demanding craftsmanship with every measurement and every nail.  As the business grew, so did Whitey's family and their involvement in the trade.  Learning alongside his father, Whitey's son Steve was molded from construction laborer to finish carpenter. Over the years, Steve became a master craftsman in his own right and would continue to learn aspects of home building.  Upon graduation from Idaho State University and after thousands of hours alongside his father, Steve took over the family custom home building business and continued to build his father's legacy. In addition to custom homes, Harris Construction would eventually grow to build schools, churches, institute buildings, convenient stores, museums and many other prominent structures throughout Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. In 2000, Steve returned to his roots and started Steve Harris Construction in Utah. Just as he was taught, Steve Harris Construction has been building quality homes for over 40 years.
